Uganda Bugisu

Grown– The “Bugisu” is fast becoming a powerhouse in our profiling room. This bean is grown between 1,000 to 1,900 meters on the slopes of Eastern Uganda. It is Organic Rain Forest Alliance certified.

Need to know– In many ways the “Bugisu” profiles much like the Indonesian Mandheling from Sumatra. Roasted between the city and Viennese roast, the character profiles present an earthy taste with strong hints of plum and raisin. If you are really good in your tasting, look for the subtle undertone of hazelnut carmel on the backend of your “cupping” experience.

Soapbox– When roasted dark this bean pairs well with sweet empanadas. Because of the nice body in this bean, it has a traditional taste that lacks for nothing. Truly a powerful coffee not on the radar of the world stage. A gem to be discovered.

SKU: UGNADA-016 Categories: , ,

This is a coffee gem waiting to be discovered. The Uganda Bugisu, sun-dried on the eastern slopes of Uganda, is quite diverse. This bean can be roasted from a medium roast to “city roast,” all the way to a dark Viennese roast. We have chosen to roast between a city and the Viennese.
